Our Pride : Slamet Mountain

     Slamet mountain is a volcano that located in Purbalingga, Central Java, Indonesia. Its 3428 meter above the sea. Slamet mountain is a highest mountain in central java and second highest mountain in java island. Why I give the tittle of my post with “our pride”? It’s because Slamet Mountain is located not far from my home, It’s located in my city, and other city like Brebes, Banyumas, Tegal, and Pemalang. So, Slamet mountain will always become our pride. From Slamet Mountain, you can see another mountain like Sindoro Mountain, Sumbing Mountain, Merbabu Mountain, etc. You even can see the sea from the top of the Slamet Mountain.

     Slamet mountain has a beautiful scenery. If you want to hike this mount you will take one day to reach the top if you hike quickly, and if you hike slowly because you want to enjoy the scenery or enjoy your trip, you will take maybe two days or more to reach the top. It is up to you.

     If you want to hike this mount, you must to go  to the last village in the slopes of slamet mountain. The name of the last village is Bambangan village. You must register yourself there too. The people in the last village is very kind. Most of the people there worked as a farmers. You can see many vegetables or fruits (cucumber, tomato, cabbage, chili, onion, potato,etc) before you hike this mount or on the way you hike this mount.

     I ever hike this mount 4 times but I really want to do it again and again. I think Slamet Mountain is addictive for me :3 When I hike Slamet mountain I feel happy, like no one can disturb me, like i have no pain, like i’m a lucky person in the world. So, you must hike this mount too.

     The mountaineer that hike this mount commonly from other city, but sometimes there’s foreign visitors too. I’m sure, you’ll never regret if you hike this mount.

     Slamet mountain has 10 post. The time you take from one post to one post between 1-3 hour, it depends on your speed. You must good in organizing time when you hike the mount If you won’t get trouble.

     My favorite post in Slamet mountain is post 9 or before the top of Slamet. There, you can see the tree without leaf, and it happen along year. I feel like in the other country when autumn. The tree is very unique (I can tell you specifically, you must prove it by yourself). You can also see edelweis there, but don’t forget, you can’t pick it because It’s be protected.
